Welcome to Zeta Nu!

Upcoming Events:

A letter from our Consul,

Brothers,
It has been another long and successful semester at Zeta Nu. This past semester was full of ups and downs but ultimately made the Chapter stronger. Full of philanthropy events, from Derby Days to Take Back the Night, this school year has enhanced Zeta Nu’s contribution to the Greek and WMU communities. We also started what we hope to be a biannual tradition of having Alumni Dinners. Hosting these dinners is just one small way that Zeta Nu wants to open its doors to its Alumni. These are just a few examples of the great achievements that Zeta Nu accomplished this past semester.
I want to highlight the Chapter’s activeness within the Greek community and WMU community. As a Chapter we made a commitment to be more involved in the philanthropy events of the other Greek houses and we stuck to it. Zeta Nu attended such events as Sigma Kappa’s Volleyfest, TKE’s Bowlarama, and Delta Zeta’s Pancake Breakfast. The Chapter also put strong effort into Greek Week along with partner Alpha Xi Delta, receiving a 2nd place trophy for “Yell Like Hell.” Zeta Nu also hosted “Take Back the Night” for the entire WMU campus. Presented by speaker Sara Jane Johnson, this event teaches college students about rape awareness and how to prevent it from happening.
Zeta Nu’s Derby Days was a big success as well. The sororities that participated were Delta Zeta, Alpha Phi, Alpha Chi Omega, and Sigma Kappa. The events included serenades, a slave auction, jeopardy, limbo, and twister. This was a very fun filled week that everyone enjoyed. Sigma Kappa came out on top, winning almost every event.
Over the past semester the Chapter was very active and successful in Intramural Sports. Zeta Nu finished second in both basketball and football in the spring of 2008. In football, the brothers beat Delta Sigma Phi (who we had lost to in the semifinals in the fall) and made it to the championship game. Sigma Chi lost to Sig Eps in both basketball and football championship games.
I want to send special thanks out to all the Alumni brothers that stay active within the chapter. This includes AAB, Housing Corporation, Chris Nyers (Grand Preator), and Mike Calabro (Chapter Advisor). Your help and guidance is making a strong difference in the chapter and with the active brothers.
With the summer upon us we look forward to new possibilities in the fall. We hope to add more philanthropy events, including a fall Derby Days. With the Mortgage Burning celebration over homecoming, Alumni Dinners, and Initiation, the fall looks to be a great time to reconnect to the chapter. I hope you all have a great summer and I look forward to seeing you in the fall!

In Hoc Signo Vinces,

Nick Larisch
